Sheryl Nelson majored in photography at the Art Institute of Seattle. She is currently a member and past board member of the Seattle Professional Photographers Association.

Her love of Photography started at the age of ten where she entered photographs in the fair and won numerous awards and later won a trophy. It continued through junior high and high school where she was in photography class, on yearbook staff, and a studio apprentice for a local portrait studio. Then during and after her college years, she assisted several excellent local wedding and portrait photographers.
